Product Overview
Anodized aluminum sheets are produced by placing aluminum plates in specific electrolytes (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, or oxalic acid) and applying an external current under controlled conditions to create a durable surface coating through electrolysis.
Anodizing Process Principle
The anodic oxidation process involves using aluminum plate as the anode in an electrolytic solution, forming an aluminum oxide film on its surface through electrolysis. The cathode typically consists of materials with high chemical stability, such as lead, stainless steel, or aluminum. This process operates on hydrolysis principles where hydrogen gas is released at the cathode, while oxygen (in molecular, atomic, and ionic forms) precipitates at the anode. The precipitated oxygen reacts with the aluminum anode to form a durable anhydrous alumina film, with some oxygen escaping as gas.
