Key Alloy Specifications
1100 Aluminum
Commercially pure aluminum (99.00% minimum) with excellent corrosion resistance, workability, and weldability. High thermal conductivity with tensile strength range of 14-24 KSI. Ideal for deep drawing, spinning, sheet metal work, decorative and architectural applications. Conforms to AMS QQ-A-250/1 and ASTM B209.
3003 Aluminum
Alloyed with 1.2% manganese providing tensile strength range of 17-30 KSI. Excellent workability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. Suitable for drawing, spinning, fuel tanks, and applications requiring higher strength than 1100. Conforms to AMS QQ-A-250/2 and ASTM B209.
5005 Aluminum
Alloyed with 0.8% magnesium with tensile strength range of 18-30 KSI. Excellent workability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. Ideal for applications requiring anodizing with finish matching architectural alloy 6063. Conforms to Federal specifications ASTM B209.
5052 Aluminum
Alloyed with 2.5% magnesium providing tensile strength range of 31-44 KSI. Very good corrosion resistance, workability, weldability and strength. Used for aircraft fuel tanks, storm shutters, refrigerator liners, electronic mounting plates and more. Conforms to AMS QQ-A-250/8 and ASTM B209.
